In this era, people actually acknowledge use of condoms as “old-fashioned”. They ignore the risks that come with unprotected sex and the effectiveness of condoms.
Unprotected sexual contact (when no condoms are used) may lead to the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
A person may sometimes not be aware they have an STI since many do not have any outward signs or symptoms. One can transmit without even knowing it.
It is best to avoid sexual acts if the partner has:
- Swollen lymph nodes in the groin
- Abnormal foul_smelling discharge
- Warts, swelling, inflammation, redness or soreness in the genital area.
So it is actually very important to use protection. However, condoms do not protect against publice lice, scabies or HPV ( the virus transmitted through any contact with an infected person’s genitals and the skin around them )
It is also important to note that many individuals are not aware of their status. Whenever you have a new partner , it is best to use protection until both of you have been tested for STIs.
