Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Wednesday got schooled by Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti as he attempted to justify their decision of bringing a sick person to court.
Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko arrived at Milimani Law Courts in an ambulance.
He had been admitted at the facility on Friday night after falling ill while at Kamiti Maximum Prison where he had been remanded.
But when Murkomen tried to explain the decision of bringing Sonko to court while he was still sick, Chief magistrate Ogoto ordered him to sit down.
He argued that Murkomen had never practiced law in their courts, citing that he didn’t have to disturb a sick person from hospital since he would still have gone ahead and given directions.
“You didn’t have to disturb a sick person from hospital, I still would have gone ahead and given directions,” Ogoti said during a court session that was live on all major mainstream TV stations.
