Embakasi East MP Babu Owino now wants President Uhuru Kenyatta to take some of Deputy President William Ruto’s personal effects after locing him out of his official residence.
Reports by Daily Nation on Sunday indicated that Ruto was denied access to his official residence in Mombasa on Wednesday.
According to the local daily, Ruto arrived in Mombasa at midmorning on Wednesday and proceeded to attend to his scheduled business of the day.
In the evening, he was scheduled to spend the night at the newly-refurbished former Coast Provincial Commissioner’s official residence.
The house was converted to the DP’s official house in a bid to cut costs when the DP travels to the coast region.
In the evening, at around 4pm, he retreated to the residence, where he found staff packing his personal belongings, which had been lodged there earlier in the day in anticipation that he would spend the night there.
The DP was taken aback by the turn of events and, upon further inquiry, he was told that government staff had received instructions to remove Mr Ruto’s personal effects from the house.
Babu Owino now says that the DP can spend his nights in one of his hotels.
He says that President Kenyatta should not at any point be blamed over the incident that happened to Ruto in Mombasa.
“Dp can stay at one of his many hotels in kenya worth billions of shillings which was bought with stolen money if he feels locked out of his official residence. Lets not blame President Uhuru at a time when he’s dealing with a thief. May the President take his clothes and shoes too,” posted the youthful MP.
