Inside Gideon Moi’s 5-Hour Meeting With Rift Valley Leaders at His Kabarak Home

Kenya African National Union (KANU) party party leader Gideon Moi seems to be plotting a strategy towards winning Rift Valley support ahead of 2022.

Moi Sunday May 17, 2020 held a five-hour meeting with a section of leaders from the Rift Valley at his Kabarak home.

Leaders who attended the meeting included Elgeyo-Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos, MPs Joshua Kutuny, Silas Tiren, William Kamket and former East Africa Community Minister Musa Sirma.

Moi, who is also the Baringo Senator, has been on a mission to strengthen the former ruling party, having signed a post-election pact with Jubilee Party.

As President Uhuru Kenyatta cracks the whip at the troubled ruling party, he brought in to the fold Moi, who has for the most part been lurking behind the scenes as 2022 succession politics hots up.

Moi’s close ally, Senator Samuel Poghisio was handed the Majority Leader’s post at the Senate, shortly after the Jubilee-Kanu pact was revealed.

Gideon has been engaged in supremacy battles for the control of the vote-rich Rift Valley region with the Deputy President William Ruto. Whom do you think will emerge victorious between the two?
