Residents of Siongiroi in Chepalungu Sub-County in Bomet are in shock as well as mourning after a form four student was stabbed to death during row over a woman at a bar.
Reports said that the 24 year-old succumbed to two stab wounds on his neck after arguing over a woman who is said to be new in the area.
Siongiroi location Chief Joseph Ngeno said the cuts on his neck are deep which reveals he might have been stabbed with a sharp knife, adding that blood spilled all over and some can be traced to Siongiroi health center.
The woman is said to have recently moved to the area from Sotik. The victim has been identified to be a day scholar at Kapsinendet Secondary School in the same sub-county.
Officers in Chebunyo police post are currently holding a male suspect who is aiding with investigation. Chepalungu sub-county police commander Nelson Masai has said he has deployed more officers in the area to help in further investigations.
The body of the deceased was moved to Longisa county referral hospital mortuary.
