Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza Impeached for 3rd Time

Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has been impeached.

This is after 49 out of 67 Members of County Assembly on Thursday, August 8, 2024, voted in favour of the impeachment motion that was tabled by Deputy Majority leader Zipporah Kinya.

Kinya tabled the motion on July 31, days after she had withdrawn a similar one that she had tabled on July 17, 2024.

Kawira now banks on the Senate for survival, having survived two previous impeachments.
