Just hours after issuing a twitter thread that aimed at exposing government’s failure in giving Kenyans factual information on coronavirus status in the country, Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie found himself in trouble.

24 hours after his outburst, the tanga tanga lawmaker was summoned to Kabete DCI offices, where he was forced to issue a lengthy clarification on his social media post.

Kiarie had on Saturday night made a statement where he insinuated that over 7,000 people were under quarantine, a figure that was interpreted to mean the patients were bundled up in few quarantine centers.

In his clarification, however, he pointed out that the 7,000 figure represented the number of people who were supposedly on self-quarantine after jetting into the country within a certain time period.

“As a law-abiding citizen, I presented myself to the Dagoretti Division Police Headquarters, to honour summons to appear at the DCIO office.

“I responded to the concerns of the government on my publications regarding the COVID 19 situation in Kenya. Two issues were raised; on the 7,000 figure and the 10,000 projection of infections by May to which I responded,” he explained.

“I allayed any fears that I meant the 7,000 were held in Lenana School. As they noted, in my post, the figure was the number of Kenyans who landed in the country since the onset of this calamity, who should be in quarantine, which in itself is a very conservative estimate,” Kiarie clarified.

In the 10,000 figure, he claimed that his projection was backed up by scientific research largely concerning other first world countries that the virus spread faster injuring their economies. The countries in question are Italy and the United States.

” On the projections of 10,000 infected cases by May, I base the figure on a scientific extrapolation published by esteemed scientific researchers in the publication “PROJECTION OF EARLY SPREAD OF COVID 19 IN AFRICA AS OF MARCH 2020” by Carl A.B. Pearson (LSHTM, SACEMA; mailto:carl.pearson@lshtm.ac.uk) Cari Van Schalkwyk (SACEMA) Anna Foss (LSHTM) Kathleen O’Reilly (LSHTM) SACEMA’s Modelling and Analysis Response Team (SMART) CMMID COVID19 working group (LSHTM) Juliet Pulliam (SACEMA),” he said.

He also noted that most parts of his earlier post were a wake-up call to all Kenyans to be prepared as the virus spread did not show any sign of slowing down.

“I continue to urge Kenyans to wash their hands, sanitise as much as they can, observe social distancing, self-quarantine and adhere to the government curfew.

“I have raised all the matters I posted extensively as a Member of Parliament through the “appropriate” channels and also on social media as a private citizen,” he added.

His sentiments on Sunday had raised Health CS Mutahi Kagwe’s eyebrows who, in his presser the same day, condemned Kiarie’s utterances stating that the MP was spreading false information.

“It is really wrong and disheartening for those in leadership to continue perpetuating false information that has got nothing to do with the real cases,” lamented Kagwe.

Dagoretti South MP, John Kiarie is a troubled man after sending a series tweets concerning the status of the Coronavirus Pandemic in the country.

On Sunday evening, Kiarie was summoned by officers from the Director of Criminal Investigation at Kabete Police Station.

The MP was grilled by the DCI over claims he made in the wee hours of March 29. Through his twitter page, he alluded that there are close to 7000 people in quarantine facilities in the country.

These people, he said, had flown in the country within the last 5 days and were currently isolated at Lenana School and Kinyanjui Technical Institute.

“We have 7,000 Kenyans in quarantine who arrived back between Wednesday and Sunday. In Dagoretti South Constituency, we are hosting them at Lenana School and Kinyanjui Tech. How they got there and the chaos therein is a story for another day,” wrote Kiarie on his twitter account.

KJ’s alarming twitter post

KJ, as he is popularly known, further stated that the government is lying to Kenyans about the real situation of the Coronavirus spread in the country. He claimed that the government is incapacitated to handle the mass infections from the disease.

“Kenya Government must forthwith communicate the gravity of the real situation without sugar coating anymore. Let Kenyans know how bad things are about to get. They will be better equipped to make personal decisions and put up with government decrees, measures and restrictions,” he further wrote

“GoK MUST come out and admit that the government CANNOT handle what is coming alone. No drought, Bomb blast, Terror attack, Westgate, or disaster we have known before is anywhere close to what is coming. We need a “Kenyans for Kenyans” to the power of 100 to even barely survive!”

Other than the MP, other people who have been arrested for propagating alarming information on the disease are blogger Robert Alai and Cyprian Nyakundi.

Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen has mesmerized netizens with his 26-year-old TBT photo.

Taking to his official twitter account on Thursday afternoon, the Elgeyo Marakwet senator shared a photo of him preparing for KCPE exams.

“#TBT 26 years ago preparing for KCPE!” Murkomen captioned the photo.

The photo has received the attention of many Kenyans on Twitter, who have gone ahead to express their different reactions.

The traditional water pot at the corner of the small room that the lawmaker was using to study, has left KOT talking, with some saying that it was the best ever water fridge.

They say it used to produce the sweetest and coldest water.

The type of shoes Murkomen had put on have also left some talking, saying that North Star was the best type of shoes back then.

However, some are talking about the kind of life the Jubilee lawmaker used to live back then, citing that indeed God is great, having lifted Murkomen from that condition to where he is currently.

Some even told the senator to be always thankful to God for lifting him that much.

A section of them have however, challenged Murkomen to be using his example of poverty to explain to his bosses on how to strengthen Kenya’s economy and creating more Jobs opportunities for the unemployed youths.

Here are some of the reactions.

As the corona virus cases increase from 25 to 28, President Uhuru Kenyatta has been forced to impose a dusk to dawn curfew between 7pm to 5 am which will act effective from Friday 27,March.

This is probably to bar ignorant Kenyans who are used to being away from home at the given hours to take on toes the measures in order to reduce the spread of the corona Virus in the country.

This comes barely two days after Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe termed Kenyans as indisciplined and difficult to handle.

Kagwe’s remarks came after a section of Kenyans failed to adhere to the measures that the government had set to curb COVID-19.

Despite this measure, the Head of State has exempted a few persons from it,these are Health Workers,Medical professionals, critical and essential services providers.

“Effective Friday, 27th March, 2020; a Daily Curfew from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. shall be in effect in the territory of the Republic of Kenya, with all movement by persons not authorized to do so or not being Medical Professionals, Health Workers, Critical and Essential Services Providers, being prohibited between those hours,” said Kenyatta while addressing the nation on Wednesday.

The head of state, however, let a sigh of relief in the hearts of Kenyans when he announced that one of the patients who had earlier been infected with the virus had fully recovered.

He further asked Kenyans to strictly take up on safety measures given by the Ministry of Health and further emphasized on social distancing as a way to cope with COVID-19 in the country.

A Tanga Tanga lawmaker who had self-isolated himself after coming from an international trip, has completed his 14 days of self-quarantine.

The Kericho senator Aaron Cheruiyot, who is allied to Jubilee’s Tanga Tanga faction, isolated himself after jetting into the country from London.

Cheruiyot on March 18 via his twitter account said he was self-quarantining at home, a fortnight after visiting the Emirates Stadium in London.

On Tuesday March 24, 2020, Cheruiyot through his twitter account again, announced that he had completed his 14 days of self-quarantine without any issue.

He said he woke up with his heart filled with joy as he completed his 14th day with no issue.

The lawmaker noted that it is a tough season for every human being, urging people to be vigilant, observe health rules, pray, remain hopeful.

He notes that when people come together in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the fight shall be won.

“Woke up with a heart filled with joy. Cleared the 14th day with no issue. It’s a tough season for every human being.Let us be vigilant, observe the health rules, pray, remain hopeful & together we shall most definetly win,” he posted.

Cheruiyot was in attendance at the Arsenal stadium in London when coach Mikel Arteta’s side beat West Ham 1-0 in an English Premier League match on March 7.

He later posted a photo of himself at the 60,000-seater stadium and even lauded French striker Alexandre Lacazette who scored the lone goal.

Soon after, Arteta tested positive for coronavirus and the club postponed two league matches against Manchester City and Brighton before the league cancelled all fixtures in the competition altogether.

As a measure to contain the COVID-19, the government announced that all Kenyans returning home from overseas trip must self-quarantine for 14 days.

The country has so far confirmed 16 cases of COVID-19.

Mr Nkedianye’s stint to run for the next two years was cut short.

Mr Okeyo’s term will run for three years. He is the former chairman of the Lake Victoria South Water Services Board.

Mr Nkedienye got a soft landing in February 2019 after he lost the 2017 Kajiado gubernatorial race to Joseph ole Lenku.

Mr Nkedianye, a close ally of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, won the Kajiado governor’s seat on an ODM ticket in 2013.

Other governors who landed State jobs include former Laikipia governor Joshua Irungu, now heading the Water Services Regulatory Board while Machakos gubernatorial race loser Wavinya Ndeti now heads the Kenya Water Institute board.

The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has today released Shs 7.4 billion to support Government efforts to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

Speaking at State House, Nairobi, during President Kenyatta’s meeting with the private sector, CBK Governor Dr Patrick Njoroge said the money was gained from the mop-up of the old 1000 shillings bank notes.

“As you recall in September last year we concluded the demonetization of our currency relating to our old generation one thousand bank notes. That matter was concluded and as a result of that, Shs 7.4 billion worth of bank notes never came back to the system.

“That money would have been held by people who, for whatever reason, did not want to subject themselves to the checks that were in place. So most likely this was money that might have been illicitly acquired through the various channels that we have talked about in other forums,” the CBK Governor said.

Dr Njoroge said the bank is giving back the money to boost the government’s efforts to combat the Coronavirus pandemic.

President Kenyatta thanked CBK for the contribution and directed Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani to ensure the money is used to support Kenyans to overcome the current health crisis.

“That money goes to help our health facilities and our health workers,” the President said.

He added: “That again is something we appreciate and this is what I mean when I say Kenyans working together can achieve miracles.”

During the meeting, the President announced a further Shs 1 billion allocation by the Government for hiring of more health workers needed to increase the country’s capacity to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic.

He said the additional funds will ensure the government brings on board enough manpower to support those already in the field working to save lives.

The President’s meeting with the private sector representatives discussed a raft of other measures being taken to cushion the country from the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Key among the interventions is an announcement by the Head of State that outstanding VAT refunds and pending bills would be settled within 30 days.

The President said VAT refunds and settlement of pending bills will help improve cash flow and keep businesses afloat.

“Critically, we all recognize that the volume of business has gone down. We need to ensure that we have cash flow to be able to keep ourselves afloat as we go through these trying times,” the President said.

He said the Government had lifted a ban on its entities from holding conferences and seminars in private hotels so as to keep the hospitality sector vibrant.

“As you are well aware we had put a ban on government officials holding meetings in hotels and said only government institutions are the ones to host various seminars by government.

“Again we have lifted that temporarily until this is over so that our hotel beds get occupancy and you in turn are able to keep your workers employed,” the President said.

Once again, the President thanked the media for its leading role in information dissemination and public health education on the Coronavirus pandemic.

He said the media had distinguished itself as a valuable partner in efforts to contain the spread of the virus.

Following yesterday’s directive, the Head of State said the Government had released 400,000 litres of ethanol, impounded by the multi-agency team on contraband goods, to oil companies for the blending of hand sanitizers to be distributed free of charge to the public.

On its part, the private sector, through the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) Chairman Nick Nesbitt and CEO Carole Kariuki, committed to continue protecting Kenyan employees against job losses and safeguarding SMEs from the adverse effects the current crisis by ensuring business and supply chain continuity.

The private sector further committed to prioritize the health and safety of employees, communities and health workers through increased Corporate Social Responsibility activities. The meeting was attended by several Cabinet Secretaries among other senior Government officials.

Earlier, the President held talks with representatives of the Export Processing Zones (EPZ) Apparel and Textile Sector during which he commended the sector for their efforts in minimizing job losses during this crisis period.

Kiambu Women Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba has called and threatened a freelance journalist.

The Woman MP on Monday morning called and told of Miltone Were, the freelance journalist.

Hon Wamuchomba accused the journalist of writing a non factual story about her.

She claims that Mr Were owns a local media website dubbed Mt Kenya News, the allegations that have been denied by the journalist.

“Starting a website is not an is easy thing. It is cumbersome and requires a lot of finance to run a news site. Where can I go and get such resources from? Secondly the women representative did not even take time to ask me if I knew anything about the site but the best thing she did was to give a phone call and start threatening my life which I don’t think she’s right according to the Kenyan constitution,” Mr. Were said.

She went ahead to tell Mr. Were that she would make sure that he disappears in a funny manner if you continued writing stories about her.

Listen to the audio below

The lawmaker is said to have been irked by two stories that were running on the site and demanded that they be pulled down.

However, the woman MP is no stranger to controversies.

She once became the talk in the country after urging local men to embrace polygamy.

In August 2017 barely weeks after clinching her seat, she went on national TV and lambasted the proposal for salary cap for MPs by the salaries and remuneration commission.

The legislator claimed that she wanted to be paid well and be honoured for who she was.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga allies have issued a hard-hitting statement against Deputy President Dr William Ruto.

The leaders drawn from both the National Assembly and the Senate blasted the second in command over his comments on the murder of Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei, daring him to resign.

The over 50 MPs issued a length statement condemning the DP’s conduct.

They also listed a myriad of scandals, including a claim that Ruto has links with the underworld.

The statement listing of crimes allegedly committed by the DP appeared to support a recent impeachment threat issued by Siaya Senator James Orengo who was conspicuously present at the press conference.

Here is the full statement:

THE FIFTH COLUMN – THE ENEMY FROM WITHIN

STATEMENT ON THE REPREHENSIBLE CONDUCT OF THE

DEPUTY PRESIDENT – H. E. WILLIAM RUTO

The Constitution of Kenya 2010 provides for the establishment of a multi-party democratic State based on specific and enumerated foundational values.

Under the said Constitution the Deputy President does not undertake a separate and distinct nomination process in presidential elections. He/she is therefore the principal assistant of the President as an integral appendage of the presidency who must operate under restricted and limited terms and conditions within the general authority of the President. The Deputy President must loyally assist the President in promoting the unity of the nation and the occupier of the office must respect, uphold and safeguard the Constitution.

Above all, as a State officer, the Deputy President must be at the forefront in complying with the responsibilities of leadership as spelled out in Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity.

The Deputy President William Ruto has declared war against established state institutions some of them which are creatures of the Constitution, just like his high office. The police (which includes DCI), and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions are constitutional bodies. The Deputy President is the second highest ranking member of the National Security Council which exercises supervisory control over national security organs and ipso facto he is well placed to deal with questions or challenges that may arise concerning the operations of security organs.

The Deputy President should therefore be the last person to complain against government institutions in funerals and roadside pronouncements with a loud megaphone. That can only undermine the authority and mandate of government institutions and may well constitute an offence against public order.

The Deputy President has questioned the capacity and mandate of the investigatory and prosecutorial organs of state. These persistent attacks have targeted numerous public officers including Fred Matiangi, Karanja Kibicho, George Kinoti and Noordin Haji who serve at the core of public service functions and operations.

He has claimed that the system has been mobilized “to bring him down” and persistently alleged that his life is in danger. In recent attacks he has not spared the Head of State either with a crude and sinister reference to the purported existence of a deep state. These attacks have now peaked with the creation of a team, directly loyal to William Ruto, within the ruling party, with the objective of insidiously eroding the prestige and honour of the President of the Republic and the Leader of his Party and to fight the government from within. This is unacceptable and ultimately renders the government dysfunctional and divided.

THE OPEN WAR ON THE PRESIDENT AND GOOD GOVERNANCE

Last year the President and Raila Odinga embarked on and launched a major initiative to fight against corruption and to build bridges leading to the exalted destination of a united and prosperous Kenya. The Deputy President has questioned the formulation and implementation of these noble objectives. Despite national and international acclaim and approval of the Building Bridges Initiative the Deputy President has openly fought against it. The narrative of peace, justice and reconciliation is total anathema to the Deputy President. The brazen attacks on the government and public institutions have been extended to the social media and targeted varied groups in society. In these circumstances the “centre cannot hold” unless appropriate action is taken against these egregious malfeasances against democracy, the rule of law, accountability and good governance.

The President has appealed to State officers and the nation as a whole that the country should not be subjected to early campaigns for the 2022 general elections. The Deputy President has bluntly disobeyed his principal, and in this regard, in our view, this constitutes gross misconduct and an act of insubordination.

INTEGRITY ISSUES

The authority and respect of the government has been subverted by the integrity issues facing the Deputy President. In fact the question of the rectitude and forthrightness of the Deputy President has always clouded the character of the Deputy President right from the beginning as his public record has constantly been fraught with concerns and controversies about his ethical probity ranging from the grabbing of public and private land to participation in fraudulent deals. The list is endless but let us mention the following –

(a) The maize scandals

(b) Land grabbing including the KCAA land on which he has developed the Weston Hotel.

(c) Arror and Kimwerer dam projects. He sensationally claimed that no money was lost and that there was a legitimate expenditure of Kshs. 7 billion for the projects by the National Treasury.

(d) Operations of AMACO in questionable deals and contracts with Kenya Pipeline Corporation and other state institutions.

(e) Manipulation of planning, budgeting and procurement procedures and irregular securing of payments for his personal benefit and thereby acting in constant abuse of office contrary to the law of the land.

(f) History of fraud, acquisition of unexplained wealth and unjust enrichment.

(g) Arms deals and association with the underworld.

LAUNCHING GHOST PROJECTS

The Public Accounts Committee has openly accused Ruto of launching ghost projects. He purportedly commissioned the Lower Nzoia Irrigation Project without the involvement of parent ministries and claimed credit. He does not launch the projects as an appropriate and official undertaking. To the contrary he is driven by an overriding, selfish and extraneous objective of promoting his egoistic ambitions to attain the office of President in 2022 by whatever means possible.

UNBRIDLED AMBITION

The Deputy President is definitely guilty of public misconduct and grave malpractices and has not lived up to the oath of office that he subscribed before assuming office. He has not brought honour to the nation and dignity to the office of Deputy President and has failed to promote public confidence in the integrity of the high office. He had rather rule Kenya than serve the people. He has not offered selfless service based solely on the public interest. He is not honest and his personal interests are in constant conflict with his public duties.

THIS STATE OF AFFAIRS leaves William Ruto with no option but resign from the office and position of Deputy President. He must shape up or ship out. He needs time and undivided attention to pursue the only thing and ambition that makes sense and has meaning in his life – Dream and Campaign for the 2022 presidential elections.

Barely hours after a Nairobi nominated Member of County Assembly lost her seat after missing plenary sittings for two years, a Jubilee senator has fiercely reprimanded Speaker Beatrice Elachi for declaring her seat vacant.

Nominated Jubilee Senator Millicent Omanga has jumped to the defense of the MCA, giving reasons as to why the MCA had missed the sittings.

Senator Omanga through her social media handles has posted a comprehensive statement backed with hospital records, revealing that 28-year-old Habiba Hussein has been in and out of hospital since she lost her newborn daughter in 2018.

“I am deeply shocked and saddened by media reports that I have come across by the speaker Nairobi City County Assembly and Hon. Alvin Palapala Mca accused of diverting bursary funds ment for needy students to a private company making fun of a tragic situation that has befallen a fellow woman and one of their colleagues, Hon. Habiba Hussein.

“As a woman, I do not understand how inhuman, selfish and insensitive some people can get, just to earn some cheap political mileage out of a tragedy.

“From the information and records in my possession, Hon. Habiba carried a challenging and complicated pregnancy to term, and delivered a baby girl Shadia, through a Caesarean Procedure, on November 21, 2018.

“Unfortunately, the baby was born with heart complications that are suspected to have arisen from the treatment the mother was undergoing during the pregnancy. Since Hon. Habiba could not undergo intense scanning that involved radiology during the pregnancy, she was put under medication for ulcers for most of the pregnancy duration, while that was not what she was suffering from.

“Despite the dedicated efforts by the doctors, Baby Shadia’s condition deteriorated due to a blocked A-V valve, and she died a few hours after birth, on the 23rd November 2018.

“Nothing is as devastating to any mother as the loss of child, and the death of Baby Shadia only aggravated the illness of Hon. Habiba.

“Ever since, Hon. Habiba has been admitted to hospital severally, the first time being barely four (3) months after delivery, when she underwent a surgery to remove her gallbladder and fibroids.

“During his 17 months sickness Hon. Habiba has been in and our of different hospitals under the care of the following Doctors: Dr. Sequiera Evan Gynaecologist (Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi), Dr. Nathan Gatheru Thagana Gyaenogolost (Nairobi Hospital), Dr. Zipporah Gatheru (paedetrician who took care of the baby after delivery), Dr. Naomi Gachara (baby Shadia’s cardiologist before she died), Dr Mahesh Chudasama (Mombasa Hospital), Dr. Swabra Swaleh (Premier Hospital, Nyali), alongside many others. Detailed medical reports are hereby attached to show their “interactions with Hon. Habiba and the subsequent treatments.

“It therefore breaks my heart, as a mother and a woman, when people choose to politicize the pain and agony that Hon. Habiba has undergone in the last two years, simply because they have been implicated in stealing bursary funds meant for poor and orphaned children.

“To attack a woman, for simply being woman, is not only unacceptable but almost Satanic.

“That is why, for me, it is beyond comprehension how Hon. Beatrice Elachi, the Nairobi City County Assembly Speaker and a fellow woman, allowed such a reckless and irresponsible statement to be made on the floor of the House, without a bother to demand for authentication of the wild claims that were made. To me, on this particular issue, she comes off as the classic example of women being the worst enemies of their fellow women, and she owed the women of Kenya an apology.

“As the Nairobi City County Nominated Senator, I demand an unconditional apology from the Kitisuru Ward MCA, Hon. Alvin Palala, and his associates for degrading, disrespecting and demeaning women, especially at their most painful and vulnerable time.

“The least Hon. Habiba deserves is support and sympathy as she recovers from the painful loss of her child, while she undergoes her treatment, where she was admitted in hospital as recently as February 2020.

“This culture of attacking women is not only barbaric, but unacceptable in the 21st Century, and I wish to urge all leaders and Kenyans at large to desist from this despicable trend of diverting attention from the real issues by dragging innocent women into their woes.

“Let Hon. Palapala and his ilk refund all the monies they have stolen from innocent orphans and poor children, and keep women out of their shenanigans.

“I also call upon the DCI and EACC to move with speed and get to the bottom of the bursary scandal in Nairobi that has been unearthed through the trending voice clip.

“My prayers are with Hon. Habiba and her family. May God comfort and heal you.

“Hon. Millicent Omanga, NOMINATED SENATOR, NAIROBI CITY COUNTY.”

A Tanga Tanga Member of Parliament has claimed that there are people in government who have been deployed to propel ODM party leader Raila Odinga to State House come 2022.

Speking on Tuesday at Kiarithaini village within his constituency during the burial of businessman Robert Kabiru, the Mathira lawmaker Rigathi Gachagua said Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rallies had been turned into platforms to advance Odinga’s political ambitions.

“These BBI rallies have been turned into platforms for Raila campaigns. It is no longer about building bridges but destroying them. Raila has succeeded in hijacking our agenda as the Jubilee Party,” said Gachagua.

He cautioned residents of Mt Kenya region will not buy the trick and will resist any attempt to force a Raila presidency.

Gachagua said the region was only keen on a BBI outcome which will guarantee them minimum prices on tea and coffee.

He faulted National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi’s proposals for the abolition of the popular vote and its replacement with a party-list proportional representation system.

“I don’t agree with my Speaker on his observation that we should embrace party-based polls where the party that wins names president and his deputy. This cannot happen in Kenya where electorate have constitutional mandate to choose who they want as their leaders,” said Gachagua.

He also urged the government scale up security for Deputy President William Ruto in the wake of his claims that he is being targeted for elimination by unnamed people in government.

Flamboyant City Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has revealed why COTU boss Francis Atwoli breaks his expensive iPhones when angry.

Taking to his social media handles on Monday afternoon, lawyer Kipkorir revealed that Atwoli medicates when he breaks his phones when he gets pissed off.

According to the city lawyer, Psychology approves Catharsis, which is venting anger on inanimate objects.

He says people like Atwoli who employ Catharsis for anger management will never assault human beings and, he is ahead in the medical curve.

“In breaking his iPhones when angry, Francis Atwoli is actually medicating. Psychology approves Catharsis, which is venting anger on inanimate objects. People like Atwoli who employ Catharsis for anger management will never assault human beings & is ahead in the medical curve,” tweeted the lawyer.

The lawyer’s remarks come barely hours after a video showing Atwoli throwing away his phone during a media presser went viral.

Atwoli is seen in the video hurling his phone on the ground when addressing allegations around ex-CS Rashid Echesa’s visit to DP William Ruto’s office.

The Labour boss questioned why Deputy President William Ruto told the country that he did not know if Echesa and his co-accused had access to his Harambee Annex office.

“The DP wants to tell us that Echesa and other foreigners were in his office more than 1 hour and 22 minutes and no one told him that they were in his office…yet that is the second-highest office in the land?” he posed before invoking his infamous ‘Washenzi’ refrain.

However, this is not the first time Atwoli was throwing away his phone.

In an interview with Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange last year, the COTU boss caught angry after someone kept on calling him while he was on air, took his phone, switched it off and threw it away.
