A man who was driving a car at a breakneck speed is currently being pursued by the police after his car got involved in a tragic accident along Kisii-Narok-Bomet highway.
According to reports, the police found out that the car was carrying six bags of bhang before the accident. The driver of the Toyota Passo is reported to have escaped with injuries after the accident that happened at Sachangwan, in Bomet Central Constituency.
Sources revealed that the police were alerted by the members of the public after the car hit a bump and rolled into a ditch at 5 am.
Bomet Central sub-county Police Commander Musa Imamai said that the widely damaged car was towed to the police station with the drugs in it. The police have suspected the drugs were bound for Nairobi from Nyanza.
The police are now looking for the car owner and the county police boss said the driver and another occupant were taken to the hospital by good samaritans. However, a search for them in local health facilities bore no fruits.
The police now claim the suspects were taken to nearby county hospitals for treatment to avoid being arrested.
