President William Ruto forced Azimio leader Raila Odinga to arrive late at the burial of the late Mukami Kimathi in Njambini, Nyandarua County over the weekend, ODM communications director Philip Etale has revealed.

Etale who was responding to attacks launched against the former Prime Minister on social media for going against the protocol to arrive at a function when everyone including the head of state has already settled down said it was a situation caused by President Ruto that forced Raila to arrive late.

According to Etale, Raila’s chopper that was supposed to fly him to Nyandarua was ready for takeoff from Wilson Airport by 9:45am.

However, a communication was made to the pilot that Harambee One that was flying President Ruto to the same venue was taking off and that he had to wait.

The ODM communication boss was responding to President Ruto’s chairperson of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors (CEA) David Ndii who had termed Raila’s action as juvenile.

Ndii had earlier on quoted lawyer Miguna Miguna’s remark which had termed Raila’s arrival as childish, noting that etiquette requires Raila to arrive at public functions on time.

“ETIQUETTE requires conman @RailaOdinga to arrive at public functions on time. Routinely arriving late after everyone has taken their seats is a childish and primitive trick to be noticed,” Miguna Miguna posted.

Members of County Assembly allied to Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition have allegedly been blocked by a heavy contingent of police from accessing the Samburu County Assembly.

This is according to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) director of communications Philip Etale.

Taking to his official Twitter account this afternoon, Etale claimed that the Azimio MCAs who are the majority in the County cannot access the County Assembly chambers in Maralal town.

He said that they have been blocked by hundreds of police officers who have been deployed at the premises.

Etale went ahead to claim that only 10 MCAs allied to the ruling Kenya Kwanza coalition have been allowed to access the chambers.

According to Etale, it is only the said 10 MCAs who are taking their oath.

“Azimio MCAs who are the majority in Samburu County Assembly have been blocked from accessing the Assembly premises in Maralal by hundreds of police officers who have been deployed at the premises. Only 10 (Kenya Kwanza) are taking oath of office,” Etale tweeted.

However, Etale’s claims cannot be substantiated since Samburu County has only 15 electoral wards.

The County’s Governor-elect Jonathan Leleliit was elected on a UDA ticket. Rival alliance Azimio has majority MCAs at 9, while Kenya Kwanza has six.

However, the numbers claimed by Etale can add up if the nominated MCAs are included.

Political leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto have reserved The Hustlers Alliance Party of Kenya with the Registrar of political parties after losing the Jubilee Asili brand, ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale has claimed.

According to Etale, the tanga tanga faction of the ruling Jubilee party was set aback after losing the recently unveiled Jubilee Asili Center brand.

This is after a businessman named Andrew Simiyu tried to reserve the name in a letter dated June 18, 2020, but Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu in her response said that the name cannot be registered since it was bearing some similarities with another party.

“This is to inform you the name suggested is not in compliance with section 8 of the Political Parties Act, 2011. Further and without prejudice upon registration of the party the name shall not be in line with Article 91 of the Constitution of Kenya,” reads the response.

The Act determines that the registrar may decline an application if a party bears a similar name, abbreviation and symbol of another outfit.

Etale through his official twitter account on Friday June 26, 220 claimed that the tanga tanga faction hurriedly convened a meeting and finally resorted to have The Hustlers Alliance Party of Kenya reserved at the Registrar of Political Parties.

“After losing Jubilee Asili to a businessman, team Tangatanga was take aback. They hurriedly convened a mtg, banged the tables & finally resorted to have The Hustlers Alliance Party of Kenya reserved at the Registrar of Political Parties,” he posted.

The Tanga tanga members had set an office in Kilimani area where they have been running their activities. They have claimed that the Jubilee Asili centre is meant to bring together the lawmakers that have been kicked out of various parliamentary committees due to their dalliance with DP Ruto.

They argued that they had been denied access to the Jubilee party headquarters located along Thika Road in Pangani, Nairobi.

The second in command a few days ago held a meeting with the Jubilee rebel lawmakers at their new office in Kilimani.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Communication director Philip Etale has told Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria to stop dragging the Orange party leader into his problems.

Taking to his official twitter account on Wednesday June 3, Etale told the controversial lawmaker that the former Prime Minister is not part of his woes in his own constituency.

Etale instead, has urged Moses Kuria to go back to his constituents, face them and pour out his heart instead of using Raila as a scapegoat for his problems.

“Hon. Moses Kuria, I know you have many problems back in Gatundu and Raila Odinga is not one of them. Please just face your constituent and pour out your heart instead of using Raila as a scapegoat,” he said.

Last month, a section of Nairobi ODM MPs hit out at Kuria for his constant attack on their party leader.

The lawmakers, led by ODM Nairobi County chairman and Makadara MP George Aladwa, called on Kuria to desist from divisive politics and instead focus on helping the government led by President Uhuru Kenyatta in fighting coronavirus pandemic as well as corruption.

Aladwa accused Mr Kuria of fighting any individual seen to be giving the backing the President needs to fight corruption and especially to recover stolen public money and land as well as deploy the recovered resources in the fight against Covid-19.

In January this year, Kuria, who referring to Raila as a ‘second wife’ to President Kenyatta, demanded respect for Tanga Tanga MPs.

Kuria has also, on several occasions, has accused Raila of being behind exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna’s tribulations.

The controversial MP has now claimed there is a plot to assassinate him for speaking the truth to power.

“So what after you kill me? Am I the last one who will speak the truth to you and your power?” Kuria posted on his social media account.

The MP, however, did not mention who intends to kill him but hinted that if the said assassination happens, it is because he is speaking the truth to power.

Kuria has on several occasions blasted the president’s leadership, saying Uhuru has changed since joining hands with his opponent Raila Odinga.

This has damaged his relationship with the people in Jubilee who supported him for re-election.

In the meantime, Uhuru seems to be at peace ever since having a handshake with Raila, with a leaked video showing them touring the Nairobi CBD at night to inspect projects.

However, things started turning soar.

All of a sudden, Etale says the engine went off and all went quiet.

One of the operators said to them that the boat had run out of fuel.

All this while, the boat was just dancing on the water lifeless. Panic struck them for ten minutes as they just stagnated at one place floating on the water and shouting at the operators.

The operators then tried as much as they could to switch on the engine and eventually managed after a long struggle.

The ODM communication boss has vowed never to try the challenge ever again after surviving the ordeal.

Etale on Wednesday afternoon took to his social media accounts issuing out several claims on the Thursday battle.

He notes that ODM are ready for anything silly and fishy.

“The brown bags that exchanged hands last night at Weston Hotel from 10pm between Tangatanga and IEBC officials won’t help anything. Returning Officer Madam Beatrice Muli, tell us what your officers were told and instructed to do. Nonetheless, we in ODM are ready for anything silly and fishy,” posted Etale.

Etale in another post notes that as Jubilee plan to play dirty, they should know that the people they talk to, mingle with and share information with are feeding ODM with the same information.

“As they plan to play dirty, they should know that the people they talk to, mingle with and share information with are feeding us with the same information. They are not happy with their plans,” reads the post.

He notes further that IEBC Must produce the updated voter Register as it has been directed by the high court.

“IEBC Must produce the Register. Stories mingi baadaye. We mean business as O D M. Ni hayo tu kwa mukhtasari,” he posted.

In another video shared by Etale, ODM alleges that Jubilee officials are planning to ferry non-Kibra residents to vote in favor of McDonald Mariga tomorrow.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party communication boss Philip Etale has slammed deputy president Dr William Ruto over his remarks against Raila Odinga on Saturday.

Ruto who was speaking in Salgaa mocked Raila of seeking for reinforcement in his own bedroom, arguing that bedroom matters had now overcome him.

Ruto’s remarks came after Raila got reinforcement from Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua and his Kitui counterpart Charity Ngilu in the race to take Kibra parliamentary seat.

The two Ukambani governors threw their weight behind ODM candidate Bernard Otieno Imran Okoth.

Raila asked Dr Mutua to woe Kamba people living in Kibra to vote for Imran in November 7 by elections, a move that saw Ruto say that Raila had rushed to ask for help on bedroom matters.

Philip Etale, while responding to Ruto’s remarks notes that ” Human Reinforcement is much better than stolen money reinforcement”.

The ODM communication in his tweet speculates that Ruto has been dishing out stolen money in Kibra to woe voters to rally behind Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga.

“Human Reinforcement is much better than stolen money reinforcement,” he tweeted on Sunday.

ODM’s Imran will face off with Jubilee’s Mariga, ANC’s Eliud Owalo, Ford Kenya’s Khamisi Butichi among other candidates in a bruising battle seen as a war between Raila and Ruto.

Raila Odinga-led Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has defended the late Ken Okoth’s move to appoint his brother Bernard Imran Okoth to be in charge of National Government Constituency Development Fund ( NG-CDF).

The party’s communication director Philip Etale says those decampaigning against Imran using his appointment to head NG-CDF are doing so because they are scared of Imran’s record.

He says the success of the late Ken in Kibra was as a result of Imran’s determination to have his brother achieve his election pledges to the people of Kibra.

Etale further urges those campaigning on the basis of that account to quote any report by the Auditor General that states financial misappropriation by the Kibra NG-CDF.

He notes that the late MP’s projects did not stall when he was incapacitated because of his ailment and had to seek treatment abroad.

Through a long social media post, Etale notes that Imran is the leader Kibra people deserve.

I have seen some people posting on social media that the late Hon. Ken Okoth appointed his relative (Imran) to be in-charge of NG-CDF. Yes, it is a fact. No one is denying this. When Ken was incapacitated because of his ailment and had to seek treatment abroad, did his projects stall? No.Again, I want to ask those campaigning on the basis of that account to quote any report by the Auditor General that states financial misappropriation by the Kibra NG-CDF. Post it here.Imran’s opponents are just scared because of his good record. The success of Ken’s projects was as a result of Imran’s determination to have his brother achieve his election pledges to the people of Kibra. He is definitely the leader Kibra people deserve,” reads the post.

Orange Democratic Movement( ODM) candidate in the upcoming Kibra by-elections Imran Benard Otieno Okoth has finally addressed the alleged bribery claims in the just concluded Kibra ODM nominations.

Speaking during an interview on Radio Citizen in the morning show dubbed Jambo Kenya, Imran said that he won the nominations without bribing anyone.

He said he was elected without giving anyone a single cent, arguing that he has never communicated one on one without ODM’s director of communications Philip Etale.

“Sikuunganishwa na Philip Etale, hizi nominations nilipata bila kuhonga hata shilingi. Kusema ukweli, sijawahi kuongea moja kwa moja na Etale,” he said during the interview, which loosely translates to, I was not connected by Philip Etale, I won these nominations without bribing even a single cent. Truly, I have never communicated one on one with Philip Etale.

It had been speculated that Imran may have been rigged in by the party mandarins.

Leaked screenshots that have been circulating on social media since Sunday morning showed that prior to the Saturday poll, Imran was in constant communication with Philip Etale, ODM Communication Director, and his victory may have been well planned even before the Kibra electorates saw the ballot papers.

Party Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna and Elections Board Chairperson Judith Pareno had allegedly demanded Ksh2 million from Imran to seal his victory as per the screenshots below.

Etale however denied the claims, urging Kenyans to ignor the screenshots which he termed as a strategy to cause confusion about ODM’s nominations.
