Kibicho Fires Tough Warning To DP Ruto Allies For Insulting His Boss

Interior PS Karanja Kibicho has warned Deputy President William Ruto allies against insulting CS Fred Matiang’i.

DP Ruto’s confidants have been hurling insults against Dr. Matiang’i.

A section of Ruto’s allies, including Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi have been abusing Matiang’i and President Uhuru Kenyatta for some days now.

Kibicho, who was addressing the media from Kirinyaga County, said their remarks were baseless, adding that the Ministry was interested in serving Kenyans rather than politicking.

He endorsed sentiments made by Matiang’i when he appeared before the National Assembly Committee on Administration and National Security, saying that the ministry will continue with the rearrangement of security.

“There is a rise in personal attacks directed at some of us, I don’t understand how the politicians will benefit from such utterances,” Kibicho said.

Tangatanga launched the attacks after the CS listed what he claimed were Ruto’s properties and the number of the security detail attached to each.

They sarcastically welcomed the ‘lifestyle audit’, threatened to expose what they called “illegal land dealings by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s family”.

Speaking while at Deputy President’s Karen Residence in Nairobi County, on Thursday, September 2, Ruto allies were livid at Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS), Fred  Matiang’i, who gave an ‘exaggerated’ lifestyle audit of Ruto.

Matiang’i, Kibicho And IG Mutyambai Summoned Over Ruto Security Drama

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, his Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho and Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai have been summoned to appear before the National Assembly committee on administration and national security.

The trio is expected to be grilled over the drama surrounding change of Deputy President William Ruto’s security.

Last week, GSU officers manning DP Ruto’s Karen residence were withdrawn and replaced by administrative police officers.

Matiag’i was summoned to appear before the committee on Wednesday, September 1, days after the DP’s security was restructured.

Confirming the meeting, the Committee chairman, Peter Mwathi, noted that PS Kibicho, and IG Mutyambai, will also accompany Matiang’i to the meeting.

He further noted that all the three top security bosses have confirmed their attendance.

According to Mwathi, Members of Parliament will seek to establish the procedures and laws the top security organs used to downgrade Ruto’s security from the elite General Service Unit (GSU) to Administration Police (AP).

“We want them to shed light on whether the action they took is within the law, and if not, we will have no option but to ensure that the law is followed,” noted Mwathi.

The committee will also seek to establish the measures taken by the National Police Service to ensure that the DP is safe and his security is not compromised.

DP Ruto had initially protested the move, writing to the security bosses to explain the motive behind changes.

In a detailed letter addressed to the police boss, Ruto claimed that the new security detail, including the replacement of his personal drivers on Friday, August 27, might have been sent to his home with an ulterior motive.

It was reported that Ruto spent the whole day at his Karen residence.

“Grow Up!” PS Kibicho Deconstructs Ruto Man Rigathi Gachagua On Live TV

Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has torn into Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua over what he claimed as peddling lies.

Kibicho who was speaking during a televised interview on Wednesday night also told the lawmaker to cease from dragging him and the interior CS Fred Matiang’i into his woes.

According to Kibicho, Gachagua who is allied to Deputy President William Ruto was using the PS and CS Matiang’i as decoys and scapegoats in the case. 

Gachagua who served as Molo District Officer in the late President Daniel Arap Moi’s government was blamed for insinuating that the Interior Ministry was on a witch-hunt of DP Ruto’s allies. 

“Gachagua is an old DO who used rungus during their regime. He has forgotten that when we changed the Constitution, everyone was poised to be accountable for their actions,” stated Kibicho.  

“He keeps thinking that the recklessness continued. I want to tell him that it stopped. He needs to grow up and stop being reckless. He has issues with his own people of Nyeri who stated that he embezzled funds. Let him deal with that and desist from dragging Kibicho and CS Matiang’i in it.”

He, however, declared that no action would be taken against the MP as the Ministry had decided to avoid being dragged into the affair. 

“That is what he is looking for. We will not engage him even as he keeps telling lies on TV,” the PS added. 

Ruto’s allies were accused of creating tension in the country in an attempt to allegedly appease their master. Kibicho claimed that the MPs at times rushed to the DP with fake news and lies on how the police were planning to threaten or assassinate them. 

Kibicho dubbed these politicians as reckless as they seize any advantage to push the DP to find relevance in their allegations.

Nairobi MCAs Disown Sonko On 2017 Chaos Claims, Reveal Unknown Details

Former Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko is now on his own after he recently made claims on how the 2017 post-election chaos were planned in Nairobi.

Sonko while at a rally in Dagoretti over the weekend, in presence of Deputy President William Ruto claimed that Interior PS Karanja Kibicho alongside him were the planners of the chaos.

Sonko has now been summoned to DCI over his statement claimed that they bought T-shirts, printed them ODM and bought second hand vehicles which were burnt by hired goons who disguised as ODM supporters so that Raila Odinga’s side can be blamed.

Jubilee Party leadership at the Nairobi County Assembly has now told Sonko to own up over his utterances that he was part of a team that planned the chaos.

Led by the Assembly majority leader Abdi Guyo, the leadership denounced Sonko’s actions saying that he did not act at the behest of the Jubilee party and perpetrated the chaos out of his own volition.

“Let it go on record that Sonko was acting on his own behalf and not on behalf of Jubilee and for political expediency and because he has already incriminated himself, then he needs to be charged on his own account,” said Guyo.

The MCAs were also concerned that the allegations made by Sonko against Interior PS Karanja Kibicho are serious and if left unchecked could have far-reaching consequences ahead of the 2022 general elections.

“We are convinced that Sonko incriminated himself by making the utterances on Sunday and as such he should be charged for the atrocities he committed to the people of Nairobi,” they said.

Guyo, who doubles as Matopeni ward MCA, dared Sonko to make public the names of those he claims are part of the deep state, at the same time warning him against linking Jubilee Party to the deep state.

He further called on the Directorate of Criminal investigations (DCI) to expedite the matter noting that it was an issue of great interest to the people of Nairobi and the country at large.

The sentiments by the ward legislators come just a day after Kibicho recorded a statement with the DCI over Sonko’s allegations.

The PS distanced himself from the allegations and accused Sonko of character assassination. He also vowed to seek legal redress by the end of the week.

Bring It On! Sonko Dares PS Kibicho, Says He Has Evidence Against Him

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has responded to Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho after he declared a total war against him.

Kibicho who spoke on Monday, Januray 25 after recording a statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters in Nairobi, said he has had enough of Sonko’s character assasination.

Kibicho moved to DCI following claims by Sonko that they jointly organised chaos in Nairobi during the 2017 general polls and blamed it on Raila Odinga’s ODM.

Dr Kibicho noted that the former County chief must be ready to answer everything he has accused him of in a court of law.

He mentioned some of the accusations Sonko has previously made against him, among them being killing of former Interior Minister George Saitoti.

The seemingly angry Kibicho noted that Sonko must come out and tell Kenyans how Saitoti was killed, and warned Sonko to be ready for a tough battle in Court.

However, Sonko in his response dared Kibicho to bring on the battle.

He claimed that throughout his public life, he has never made claims that he cannot substantiate.

Sonko further insisted that he had spoken nothing but the truth.

“MY RESPONSE TO PS KARANJA KIBICHO I’ve learned from reliable media reports that Interior PS @Karanjakibicho presented himself to the DCI ostensibly to record a statement, even without an invitation, after the revelations I made yesterday while addressing the public in Dagoretti.

“I’ve also gathered that he plans to move to court this week purportedly to sue over my statement yesterday. My brief response to him is simple: BRING IT ON! Throughout my public life, I’ve NEVER made any allegations that I can’t substantiate, including the truth I spoke yesterday,” posted Sonko.

“I Don’t Start What I Can’t Finish,” PS Kibicho Declares Total War Against Sonko

Sonko was referring to the recent unrests that have been witnessed in the Rift Valley region, where some vehicles have been burned in what has been blamed on the war of class that is allegedly being fuelled by DP Ruto’s hustler vs dynasty narrative.

According to Sonko, it is ‘the system’ that is burning the vehicles, so that it can be blamed on DP Ruto’s hustler nation movement.

Some argued that Sonko should just be picked up and returned to Shimo La Tewa prison to complete his jail term.

PS Kibicho Announces Major Changes On This Year’s Jamhuri Day Celebrations

Interior Principal Secretary Dr Karanja Kibicho has made a major changes on this year’s Jamhuri day celebrations.

In a notice addressed to all Regional Commissioners, PS Kibicho directed that the December 12 event will only be celebrated at the Nyayo National stadium.

According to PS Kibicho, there will be no any other celebrations that will be marked in any place across the country, apart from the Nyayo Stadium event.

The event that will be presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta will run from 8am, with a live broadcast.

The changes come as a result of Covid-19 pandemic. According to PS Kibicho, inviting people for the Jamhuri Day celebrations will not be possible, to aid observing of the health protocols that were issued by the government.

Kenyans have been urged to follow the event on Televisions, radio and social media platforms.

Raila Responds to DP Ruto’s ‘Deep State’ Claims

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Raila Odinga has responded to Deputy President William Ruto’s outburts.

The second in command had on Tuesday August 11 claimed that there is a plan by the deep state and the system top rig him out in the 2022 general electuions.

The DP who was speaking at his Karen residence noted that he was unstoppable, saying that he would crash the so called deep state.

“I just want to tell them: ‘We’re waiting for you’. This system, this Deep State we are being told about, we are waiting for it. They’ll come with the system, but we will be there with the people and God and see who wins,” said Dr Ruto.

However, Raila on Thursday August 13 said he is unaware of the existence of an ineffable election results manipulator known as the Deep State.

“I, Raila Odinga, do not hold a position in the current Government. The Head of State is known, and the Deputy President is known. If you are talking of the Deep State, who is there? When someone talks about the Deep State [that is outside the Government circles], which one is it? We [in ODM] do not know about the Deep State,” said Raila Odinga while welcoming new members to ODM at Orange House in Nairobi on Thursday, August 13.

“From our previous experiences as ODM, we have learnt a lot; we know where we are coming from, and where we want to go,” he added.

After denying knowledge of the existence of a Deep State outside government circles, Raila was asked by a journalist to respond to his elder brother Oburu Odinga’s claim — that he (Raila) will be a beneficiary of the “system” in 2022 presidential race.

“Oburu Odinga is an individual [entitled to his own opinion],” the ODM leader replied, playing down the consequence of his brother’s remarks.

In late July 2020, Oburu Odinga said that the AU representative for Infrastructure lost previous presidential elections because he was not receiving the backing of the “system”.

“All these elections, we have been getting the most votes, but not ending up in State House because we did not have the system. But now in 2022, we have both the system and our votes which are always the majority — what more could we ask for?” Dr Oburu posed in a previous public address.

Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho on Wednesday August 12 also dismissed DP Ruto’s claims, arguing that there is nothing like the deep state in Kenya.

PS Karanja Kibicho Responds to Ruto’s ‘Deep State’ Outburst

Interior Principal Secretary, Karanja Kibicho, has responded to Deputy President William Ruto’s ‘deep state’ and ‘system’ rant.

The second in command on Tuesday August 11, 2020, during a meeting held at his Karen residence in Nairobi, claimed that the ‘Deep State’ and ‘system’ are planning to rig him out in the 2022 general elections.

The second in command while insisting that he will be armed with voters and God to crash the system in 2022 cited that he was not afraid of the group dubbed Deep State, a term commonly being used in political debate to refer to boardroom politics.

However, PS Kibicho says that the shadowy entity referred by DP Ruto exists only in the minds of those who have already sensed electoral defeat.

Speaking on Wednesday August 12, 2020 during an interview with Spice FM, Kibicho noted that the deep state and the system that were referred to by Ruto don’t exit in Kenya.

Ruto while raising his claims had also recounted that similar tactics had been used during the 2013 campaign when he teamed up with Uhuru Kenyatta to seek the Presidency.

Ruto’s statement appeared to be a warning to his distractors, from a politician who has been deliberately restrained despite what his supporters see as a direct and repeated provocation by a section of Jubilee Party leaders.

The Deep State is used to refer to a group of highly influential individuals, government officials, and businessmen with deep pockets and wide networks and whose political interests and preferences can sway elections.

His comments come only days after Jubilee Party vice chairman David Murathe and trade unionist Francis Atwoli told the nation to prepare for a Raila Odinga presidency, comparing the ODM man to South Africa’s freedom hero, Nelson Mandela.

Sonko Threatens to Take Uhuru’s Right Hand Man to Hague

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has threatened to take Interior Permanent Secretary Karanja Kibicho to an International Criminal Court (ICC), at the Hague.

Sonko in a protest letter posted on his social media handles Wednesday morning said that he was studying the Rome statues and engaging local and international lawyers to deal with the case in which thousands on Nairobi residents residing in Korogocho, Kariobangi area, were left homeless after their houses were vandalised without proper notice.

The embattled County chief argues that such incidents have been happening under the instructions of PS Kibicho, Nairobi Regional Commissioner (RC) Wilson Njega and Nairobi Regional Police Commander Philip Ndolo .

Sonko says that the trio must be taken to ICC for breaching articles 1.5, 53 and 7(1)(k) of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

He wants them charged with a serious crime against humanity.

In his arguement, Sonko has defended President Uhuru Kenyatta, citing that he is 100% sure the head of state is not aware of the incidents.

He argues that it is people around the first in command that are messing with he country.

He notes that PS Kibicho defied a high court order just the same way he defied an order Sonko had secured against the vandalism of the public sanitization booths, and send heavily armed police officers to supervise an illegal eviction and demolition during the deadly Covid-19 pandemic period.

Sonko adds that it is a curse for the elderly, Children and their Mothers to sleep in the rains just because the only place they have been calling home has been vandalised, amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I’m 100% sure the President is not aware about this but I have been saying the people around my Boss are messing this country.How on earth do you defy a high court order just the same way they defied an order we secured against the vandalism of the public sanitization booths and send heavily armed police officers to supervise an illegal eviction and demolition during this deadly Covid-19 pandemic period.

” The elderly, Children and their Mothers are sleeping in the rains, what a curse? Let me study the Rome statues and engage the local and international lawyers to deal with this issue, coz this is a serious crime against humanity and this is the right time PS Interior Karanja Kibicho, Nairobi RC Wilson Njega and Nairobi Regional Police Commander Philip Ndolo MUST be taken to ICC for breaching articles 1.5, 53 and 7(1)(k) of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court,” reads part of Sonko’s statement on Facebook.
