Stop Misleading The Youth Through Petty Projects, Ngunjiri Wambugu Tells Off Ruto

Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has dismissed Deputy President William Ruto’s hustler movement.

Speaking in an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday night, Wambugu said DP Ruto’s philanthropic activities under the hustler nation movement where he has been donating wheelbarrows, handcarts, and other simple working tools is  ploy to deceive the youth into voting for him in 2022.

According to the Jubilee lawmaker, Ruto’s rise to power and wealth was enabled by former President Daniel arap Moi.

“The Deputy President is misleading the youth through this hustler nation charity projects. Ruto is today a very wealth man but when he was a hustler, back in his university days, he went to Moi and he was given prime land. He was given a job at YK92 and allowed to do big business with the government – that is how he acquired wealth. If he wants others to be like him, why not give them land and government jobs rather than mkokotenis?” Wambugu posed.

He added that many of those who voted for the DP would not have done so if they knew he would be spending every day campaigning for the Presidency.

Early this year, Ruto revealed that Moi gave him his first piece of land while he was in university which he later sold and bought his first car.

A day after skipping the national Covid-19 conference chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Ruto was back to dishing out ‘hustler’ goodies to youths at his Karen residence in Nairobi.

On Tuesday, the DP distributed several items, including wheelbarrows, to youths and women, and said, “Every hustle matters, creating and expanding each opportunity is a chance to make many dreams come true.”

The DP said that the insults from his critics will not stop him from reaching out to the youths who need his help.

Murathe Reveals Intricate Details That Killed Bromance Between Uhuru And Ruto

Jubilee party Vice chairman David Murathe has shed a light on on the intricate details that killed the bromance between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

Murathe who was speaking in Nyeri on Tuesday afternoon said that Ruto’s rebellion caused the fallout between him and his boss.

He argued that the head of state was willing to campaign for DP Ruto in 2022 but the second in command ignore the President’s call to stop early campaigns, and just kicked of his early bid for State House.

“The president was even ready to campaign for the guy in 2022, but then Ruto thought, this guy is a sitting duck, I don’t need him and started his early campaigns,” he said.

Murathe also turned the blame finger at Ruto in some of Jubilee government’s unfulfilled promises.

“Ruto goes all over the country launching phantom projects which don’t happen, you saw the pledges he gave about the stadia, it has taken the involvement of the president to have the stadia done, you cannot give pledges without figuring out how that will be done,” he added.

While addressing the festering tensions between the two brother’s in politics, Murathe said that it likely Ruto will be leaving the Jubilee party in the coming day.

He claimed that several Ruto allies have in the recent past claimed they will vie in 2022 under different parties which may see the Ruto camp form its own political outfit.

“Listen to his allies, they are talking of going to the next polls with a different outfit, it is like a decision has been made, the other day he was at the headquarters, we gave him tea, he tried to reverse our decison in Mswambweni but it was not possible,” Murathe said.

Murathe went ahead to claim that Ruto currently has no job, adding that his roles have since been taken over by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i.

“He has no job if the president is around, his only job is to deputise in the president, you know his job was taken over by Fred Matiangi, he is the one in charge of coordinating other ministers, the things he used to do are being done by Matiang’i,” Murathe said

VIDEO: DP Ruto Resurfaces Riding in a Wheelbarrow a Day After Snubbing Uhuru

Just a day after Deputy President William Ruto skipped the national Covid-19 conference chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday September 28, 2020, the second in command has emerged riding in a wheelbarrow.

The DP held an event at his Karen residence in Nairobi where he was meeting a group of youth.

He was dishing out goodies, among them wheelbarrows and handcarts.

In the event which singer Antoneosol was the MC, DP Ruto danced to the new gengetone song in which he has been featured, before taking to the wheelbarrow in what the MC termed as driving the hustler’s vehicle.

Ruto was then driven on a wheelbarrow a few meters as he jammed to the song ‘Mboka ni Mboka’ that was released by gengetone group ‘Wakali wao’ two days ago.

The DP distributed several items, including wheelbarrows, to youths and women, and said, “Every hustle matters, creating and expanding each opportunity is a chance to make many dreams come true.”

Langata MP Nixon Korir and nominated Senator Milicent Omanga are among politicians who were present.

Bishop Margret Wanjiru also was present, calling upon Kenyans to desist from politics of ethnicity.

Ruto was absent during the conference in which Uhuru announced an extension of the curfew for 60 days as well as reopening of bars. Some of the DP’s allies said it was hypocritical for Ruto to be invited to the national conference yet he had been locked out of other meetings.

State House Blocked, Blacklisted Ruto on Facebook After he Skipped Covid-19 Conference

State House on Monday September 28, 2020 blacklisted and blocked Deputy President William Ruto and any name associated with him.

This happened during the Facebook livestreaming of Covid-19 conference that was held at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), an event that the second in command skipped despite being invited.

Comments containing names like Ruto, DP, William Samoei Ruto, hustler and WSR were blocked in the comments.

The comments of those who tried to comment using the blacklisted names had their comments blocked, with Facebook giving them a notification, “Your comment contains a  blacklisted word”.

The motive behind the decision is not clear.

However, this is not the first time State House is making such a controversy.

In August 2018, pictures posing with UK Prime Minister Theresa May  were deleted from the president’s Facebook account.

The two pictures, which showed DP Ruto shaking hands with Mrs May at State House Nairobi, were only restored after hawk-eyed Kenyans noticed.

More pictures of the DP at the State House function were only released to the DP’s communication team later and his followers started sharing them enthusiastically.

In March this year, photos taken during a Cabinet meeting and uploaded to State House’s social media platforms were deleted.

A dive into the thread after the images were uploaded showed that Kenyans expressed their joy at DP Ruto being present.

Several other remarks by netizens referred to the DP as the fifth president of the Republic of Kenya, noting it was time they heard him address the nation.

It did not take long for netizens to realise the images had been pulled down, not long after they had been posted.

ODM MP Suspended Over His Dalliance With DP Ruto

Raila Odinga-led Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has suspended Kilifi North Member of Parliament Owen Baya.

The party in a statement on Saturday said the National Executive Council had resolved to suspend the legislator after he recently showed disloyalty to the Orange party.

“NEC also approved the SUSPENSION of Hon. Owen Baya from the NEC following his public utterances that have been unkind to the party and its leadership. The Disciplinary Committee will take up the matter and make a verdict,” reads a tweet by the ODM party.

Baya was suspended after a two-day retreat at Stoni Athi Resort in Athi River.

As a result of the suspension, the MP  had also been relieved of his post as the party’s deputy organising secretary.

“Cognisant of the central role that the party’s NEC plays in the management of the party and the need to maintain the probity of its deliberations, the NEC resolved to suspend Hon. Owen Baya, the MP for Kilifi North from membership of this critical organ and from his position as the Deputy Organisisng Secretary given his recent utterances and conduct that have cast doubt on his commitment to this party and its onbjectives,” ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna said.

On Wednesday, Baya was part of a delegation of Coast MPs that escorted Feisal Abdallah Bader, an aspirant for the Msambweni parliamentary seat, to meet Deputy President William Ruto at his Karen office.

His woes seem to have escalated after he accompanied the Msambweni aspirant to DP’s Karen home.

ODM will be fielding a candidate in the Msambweni by-election and has reached an agreement with Jubilee not to field their candidate.

DP Ruto however contested his party’s move saying he would have wanted to have a candidate battle with ODM.

Matiang’i Fires Back at Ruto Allies Over Huduma Namba Rigging Narrative

The government has responded to claims by Deputy President William Ruto’s allies that there is a scheme to manipulate Huduma Namba data.

A section of Jubilee party lawmakers allied to tanga tanga faction had on Thursday September 24, 2020 alleged that the government has ill-intentions with the data that was taken from Kenyans through Huduma Namba registration.

They even argued that the programme is now being handled by foreigners.

However, in response, the government has dismissed the claims, saying that the programme is 100% managed by Kenyans.

The Interior ministry on Friday denied claims that foreigners have been hired to run the Huduma number registration ahead of 2022 elections.

“The database logistics and the software for NIIMS are 100 per cent Kenyan government funded, designed and developed and solely managed by Kenyans,” CS Fred Matiang’i said in a statement.

The statement came a day after Ruto’s allies alleged that a mysterious foreign firm had been single sourced through the National Intelligence Service to rig the 2022 elections.

They argued that an expatriate had been procured privately to steer the second phase of the programming and they fear the process was ill-conceived.

Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa stated the country could not continue losing money during the tough economic times, with his Kikuyu counterpart Kimani Ichung’wah stating that they  would not allow another scandal to happen in the country in the name of the registration of the people.

Their sentiments were supported by Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa, nominated Senator Millicent Omanga, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali who said Kenyans would want to know what happened to the first phase of registration.

Sharlet Mariam Dares DP Ruto in a Viral Video After Being Dumped

Sharlet Mariam Akinyi, the lady who ditched Raila Odinga’s ODM to be endorsed by Deputy President William Ruto has responded after the second in command dumped her to support another candidate.

In a viral video that has been doing rounds on social media, Sharlet has expressed her disappointment in DP Ruto, whom she has accused of double standards.

Ruto on Thursday met another independent candidate Faisal Bader at his Karen residence in Nairobi, just a day after camping at Jubilee headquarters with Sharlet, who was confident of the DP’s support in her quest to clinch the Msambweni parliamentary seat which became vacant following the death of Suleiman Dori.

Sharlet dared Ruto to campaign for another contestant, but be prepared to lose to her as she was keen on clinching the seat. She noted that the DP was pretending to be supporting hustlers and the poor, only for him to land on a dynasty in the politics of inheritance.

She declared that she would contest on an independent ticket after Jubilee shortchanged her.

“Mwanamke amejitokeza na anafinyiliwa chini. Mimi nasema ivi, niko tayari kupambana na wanaume. Dynasties or no dynasties…mimi niko tayari kupambana na wanaume, (which losely translates to, It is so sad that a woman is repressed when she stands out to fight for an equal right. I am ready to face all men. Dynasties or no dynasties),” she said.

She added that Ruto had betrayed her by showcasing double standards. She stated that the DP had promised to support the poor in Msambweni through her, but left her hanging out to dry.

Asked whether she was aware that the DP was supporting Feisal, Mariam bitterly lamented that she was a victim of the row between ODM leader Raila Odinga and Ruto.

On Wednesday, September 23, Tuju announced that Jubilee was not going to field any candidate in Msambweni owing to the handshake between Odinga and Kenyatta.

The December 15 by-election is Ruto’s tactical approach of testing waters ahead of the 2022 elections. Analysts widely expect him to vie against Odinga in 2022.

Details of Uhuru’s Phone Call That Humbled The ‘Defiant’ Ruto

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday shattered his deputy William Ruto’s plans to flex muscles with ODM leader Raila Odinga in the upcoming Msambweni Parliamentary by-elections.

According to a report by one of the leading local dailies, Uhuru made a 30-minutes phone call through Jubilee party Secretary General Raphael Tuju’s phone, which was put on a loudspeaker to address the second in command.

Ruto had arrived at the ruling party’s headquarters along Thika Road in Pangani, Nairobi barely an hour after Tuju made an announcement that Jubilee was not going to field a candidate in the by-elections, citing the ‘handshake’ between President Kenyatta and Raila.

It has since emerged that Tuju placed a phone call to Uhuru, where the DP was reportedly cornered and told to stand with the party position.

Ruto then emerged from the meeting to announce he would stand by the party’s decision.

However, barely a day after this commitment, Ruto, in a sign of defiance, met an independent candidate for the seat – Feisal Abdallah Bader – yesterday morning.

The meeting confirmed the DP’s determination to face off with Raila in the campaigns, which he is likely to use to gauge his support base in Kwale County.

He met Bader in the presence of his allies from the Coast region.

“Met an aspirant for Msambweni parliamentary seat Feisal Abdallah Bader in the company of Coast MPs Athman Shariff (Lamu East), Mohammed Ali (Nyali), Owen Baya (Kilifi North), Khatib Mwashetani (Lunga Lunga) and Aisha Jumwa (Malindi) at Karen, Nairobi County,” tweeted Ruto.

The decision by Ruto to endorse Bader was surprising given he was with Mariam Sharlete at the party headquarters on Wednesday.

Ruto and Tuju are said to have proceeded to the party’s boardroom on Wednesday for a meeting before the secretary-general placed a phone call to the president, who was in Mombasa.

The call was put on loudspeaker for the three officials to discuss the reason for not fielding a candidate. It lasted 30 minutes, according to officials at the party.

Tuju is said to have taken Ruto through an internal document prepared by the party, with Uhuru listening in.

A top party official said the decision was made to stop Ruto from engaging in a political confrontation with Raila, who is enjoying a close working relationship with the ruling party.

Ruto Finally Introduces His Candidate For Msambweni By-Elections

Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday September 24, 2020 introduced his preferred candidate for the upcoming Msambweni by-elections.

This comes just a day after the second in command was cornered by Jubilee party Secretary General Raphael Tuju at the party’s headquarters along Thika Road in Pangani, Nairobi.

The DP had on Wednesday hoped to turn the tables on the party and hand the ticket to a candidate for the by-elections.

However, Tuju had already announced that the party was not going to field a candidate in the by-election occasioned by the death of MP Suleiman Dori.

He then held a two-hour meeting with Ruto, who then came out to announce that he would abide by the party decision though he did not agree with it.

The DP said he was of a different view on Jubilee fielding a candidate and said he was not consulted.

He had however, hinted that he would support any candidate who is not a Jubilee party member, that will approach him seeking for his support.

Notably, Mariam Sharlete, who recently decamped from ODM, had arrived at Jubilee headquarters to pick her nomination papers for the December 15 by-election.

A day later, the DP hosted another candidate at his Karen residence in Nairobi.

The second in command met Feisal Abdallah Bader who was in the company of Coast MPs Athman Shariff (Lamu East), Mohamed Ali (Nyali), Owen Baya (Kilifi North), Khatib Mwashetani (Lunga Lunga) and Aisha Jumwa (Malindi).

Jumwa, who is an ODM rebel MP, and Mohamed Ali are some of the strongest DP Ruto allies from the Coastal region.

Lawyer Ahmednasir Details How DP Ruto Will Benefit From Dissolution of Parliament, Raila to Lose

Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has claimed that Deputy President William Ruto’s Tanga Tanga faction of the ruling Jubilee party will benefit big should President Uhuru kenyatta dissolve parliament as per Chief Justice David Maraga’s advice.

Taking to his official Twitter account this morning, the flamboyant lawyer claimed that should Prrsident Kenyatta hid to the advice, Tanga Tanga will have a super majority of about 70% in both houses of the parliament.

Ahmednasir went ahead to argue that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga will be the biggest loser.

According to the lawyer, Raila’s Orange party will lose its popularity, to an extend of jut being a Luo Nyanza political party.

“If H.E Uhuru DISSOLVES parliament in-line with the HERETIC constitutional advice by CJ Maraga, TangaTanga will have a super majority of about 70% in both Houses…and odm will become a Luo Nyanza party…FACT,” he tweeted.

Maraga on Monday September 21, 2020 made history yet again, advising President Kenyatta to dissolve Parliament for failing to implement the two-thirds gender rule.

In a new first, the Chief Justice handed a guilty verdict against the entire cast of Parliament for failing to carry out their constitutional mandate despite clear warnings.

Yesterday, Justice Maraga said despite the court orders, Parliament remained defiant.

According to him, even when he gave the speakers chance to defend themselves in a petition filed by Law Society of Kenya, Fredrick Gichanga, Toili, Stephen Owoko, John Wangai and David Sudi, they never filed submissions despite raising objections.

Registrar of Political Parties Trashes Ruto’s Tanga Tanga Movement, Says Can’t be Registered

Deputy President William Ruto’s Tanga tanga movement cannot be registered as a political party, acting registrar of political parties Anne Nderitu has said.

According to Nderitu, Section 8 of the Political Parties Act doesn’t allow such movements to be enlisted as a political party.

Nderitu on Friday told MPs at the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee during her vetting for the job that a party’s name should have a democratic meaning.

The law states that the registrar may refuse an application for the registration of a political party over unacceptable names or abbreviations.

This will be so if the name is obscene or offensive; already used by another political party or has symbol that is used by an already existing entity.

“Tangatanga, from the face value of the name, sounded offensive. We found it to be in violation of the Act. At the heat of the moment someone can identify, but consider 10 years from today when the word is not in the politics people get lost,” Nderitu said.

She said the ideal situation is where people register parties with unique identities “which can speak for generations.”

A few months ago, DP Ruto’s camp was dealt another blow after a businessman tried to register  Jubilee Asili as a party, just days after the camp launched a Jubilee Asili center, an alternative venue for their meetings.

Jubilee Asili, which is associated with DP Ruto was rejected for not meeting the legal requirement of not resembling another registered political party.

In response to James Simiyu, who had applied to reserve and subsequently register the name as a political party, Ms Nderitu said the suggested name was not in compliance with section 8 of the Political Parties Act, 2011.

“The name does not meet legal requirement, so any application on the same name cannot be admitted,” Nderitu said.

Ngunjiri Wambugu Reports Ruto, Oscar Sudi And Johana Ng’eno to DCI

Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has finally reached out to  Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti over politicians that have been using certain phrases in rallies.

In a letter shared on his Facebook page on Tuesday September 15, 2020, the lawmaker has argued that phrases like “Watu fulani” and “Watu wengine” may sound harmless but could be coded by politicians to fan violence against a section of Kenyans.

Wambugu has pointed out Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi, his Emurua Dikirr counterpart Johana Ng’eno and the Deputy President William Ruto as the leaders who commonly use the phrases, which he termed as ambiguous.

He has likened the phrases to  “kwekwe” and “madoadoa” which were allegedly used to spread hate messages and incite ethnic violence by politicians during the 2007 General Election.

“Please note that the phrases “Watu fulani” and “watu wengine”are politically ambiguous. In current p[ublic political conversations these phrases are being assumed to refer to particular Kenyan political families. Others assume that these refer to particular Kenyan economic sector. However, some…fear that these phrases could as easily refer to a certain ethnic community,” reads part of his letter.

He said the phrases must be viewed  as dangerous as the “madoadoda” and “kwekwe” encountered in Kenya’s violent history.

Wambugu has therefore urged DCI Kinoti to investigate whether the phrases are meant to incite some sections of Kenyan society against others.

He demanded that appropriate charges be preferred against anyone who has used these phrases in political rallies, should they be found to have meant to incite Kenyans.

Ruto Set to Land in Kisumu, Migori For Mega Rallies Days After Shaking Kisii

Deputy President William Ruto is planning to tour Kisumu and Migori counties just days after his Kisii tour.

The second in command has been traversing regions perceived to be ODM leader Raila Odinga’s strongholds, with an intention of popularising himself ahead of 2022 succession politics.

The Kisumu tour is tentatively scheduled for next week and preparations for the rally began in earnest Monday. Ruto on Monday received a delegation of select people from Siaya, Kibra and Kisumu at his Karen home in Nairobi.

The delegation was led by Eliud Owalo who announced his decision to join the Ruto 2022 presidential camp. Owallo ditched Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC last month.

Raila has enjoyed near fanatical support in Nyanza over the years and it will remain to be seen if Ruto can make any significant forays into the region.

While in Kisumu, Ruto plans to grace church functions and to dish out goodies to the youth and women.

In Migori, he plans to visit areas where he has enjoyed some support and also show support for embattled Governor Okoth Obado who is facing various charges ranging from murder to corruption.

ODM has asked its 42 MCAs to impeach Obado after he was charged with graft and barred from office.

Both Ruto and Raila are seen as the front-runners in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In what is shaping up to be a game of numbers, the DP has focused his attention strategically at four regions that have traditionally voted for Raila.

Coast, Nyanza, Nairobi, and Western are on Ruto’s radar while on the other hand he is attempting to make inroads in Mt Kenya.

The DP was last in Luo Nyanza in December 2018 when he shared a podium with the former Prime Minister in Kisumu county in a function that was officiated by Uhuru . Will he manage to win the hearts of the Luo Nyanza voters with his hustler nation narrative?

Former Raila Political Strategist Joins DP Ruto Camp Weeks After Dumping Mudavadi

Former Raila Odinga’s political strategist Eliud Owalo has joined Deputy President William Ruto’s political camp, weeks after ditching Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC).

Former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale on Monday September 14, 2020 took to his official twitter account to reveal that DP Ruto had received Owalo into his camp at his Karen home in Nairobi.

Khalwale further revealed that former Machakos senator Johnson Muthama and Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua were also in attendance at the event.

“Today the Hustlers’ Clerk, @WilliamsRuto, at his Karen residence, received @EliudOwalo into the Hustlers Movement. @nduyamuthama and Hon Gachagua and I also attended,” Khalwale tweeted.

Owalo ditched Raila’s ODM party last year, just a few months to Kibra parliamentary by-elections.

He then joined Mudavadi’s ANC side where he got a ticket to vie for the Kibra parliamentary seat. Mudavadi traversed the constituency with him in search of votes, but he did not make it after ODM’s Bernard Imran Okoth emerged victorious.

About a month ago, Owalo ditched ANC.

In a letter copied to the Registrar of Political Parties, Owalo said that his exit was necessitated by the need to create ample space within the party.

He stated that the move will allow the party “strategically position itself effectively in the operational environment and craft a suitable road map moving forward without feeling suffocated by my views and suggestions.”

Thanking the party stakeholders with special mention to Mudavadi, Owalo who runs a management consultant firm, wished the party well.

How Jubilee is Planning to Further Cut Down to Size The Already Isolated Ruto

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s kieleweke wing of the ruling Jubilee party is just not yet done with Deputy President William Ruto!

With 2022 succession politics hotting up, President Kenyatta’s allies who are crafting his succession want to sideline DP Ruto more, to push him further away from the succession matrix.

According to a report by a local daily, the plan being mooted by the President’s close confidants will create four deputy party leader positions to dilute the DP’s influence and box him out of the Jubilee succession matrix.

Under the proposed line-up, the report details that the deputy party leaders will be bosses of particular regions only.

In a telling move, the party is said to be plotting to have another party leader from South Rift, meaning Ruto will only remain in charge of North Rift.

However, the names of those being considered for the three slots remain under the wraps.

To roll out the strategy, Uhuru’s allies plan to sponsor amendments to Article 9 (2) of the Jubilee constitution to provide for four deputy party leaders.

They are first relying on Article 4(2) of the party constitution which empowers the National Executive Committee to reorganise the membership of the entity.

“The National Executive Committee shall have the power to create or establish such categories of membership for the advancement of the interests and objectives of the party as circumstances may warrant,” the article reads.

Once the positions are created, they will then be operationalised awaiting ratification by the National Delegates Conference that will nominate the 2022 presidential flag-bearer.

With four centres of power in the party, Uhuru’s allies believe that Ruto would be annihilated and his dream for the Jubilee ticket dashed.

Ruto’s quest for the party ticket in 2022 could be dimmed through the machinations focusing on bringing on board regional bigwigs to take him on at the primaries.

This is part of the plan B the President’s handlers are looking at in case the DP chooses to hang onto the wobbly outfit to bulldoze his nomination as the 2022 presidential flag-bearer.

Ruto to Cancel His Kisii Trip? Uhuru Calls For an Urgent Full Cabinet Meeting

President Uhuru Kenyatta is currently chairing a full cabinet meeting at State House, Nairobi.

The head of state  chaired the first Cabinet meeting this year in January.

During the first meeting, the cabinet approved the establishment of a Counter-Improvised Explosive Device Centre (C-IED Centre) at Embakasi Garrison in Nairobi.

In March, Prrsident Kenyatta chaired another cabinet meeting with his Deputy William Samoei Ruto in attendance.

However, the State House later deleted the photos taken during the Cabinet meeting and uploaded to State House’s social media platforms.

Ruto was seated on the right-hand side at the meeting that was chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The today’s meeting comes at the time DP Ruto had planned to travel to Kisii for a political event.

With State House insisting that the meeting was a full cabinet meeting, DP Ruto might have been forced to cancel his trip to Kisii to attend the meeting.

Earlier this morning, there were running battles in Kisii Town as residents protested presence of crowds mobilized from Bomet to welcome DP Ruto to Kisii town.

Police had a rough time keeping two warring groups apart. Local MP Silyvanus Osoro accused Kisii Governor James Ongwae for emptying truckloads of sewage at Gusii Stadium which woke up to a flooded and stinking grounds after unknown people poured waste on the grounds where DP Ruto was scheduled to hold an event.
